Today, Congressman Fred Keller (PA-12) joined Americans for Prosperity Executive Director Kent Strang and Pennsylvania State Director Ashley Klingensmith to discuss the latest updates on his Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution, legislation he is leading in the U.S. House to eliminate President Biden's vaccine mandate on private employers and workers.

"Americans for Prosperity is proud to support efforts under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to disapprove recent federal mandates for vaccination. AFP believes that such executive overreach diminishes public confidence when we need it most and reflects a misguided approach to our public health challenges. We applaud Representative Keller's leadership and encourage all members of Congress to exercise appropriate oversight, given the overbroad scope of the mandate," said Brent Wm. Gardner, Chief Government Affairs Officer, Americans for Prosperity.

Below are some key excerpts from Congressman Keller during the discussion which was pre-recorded on December 22:

[President Biden] thinks that his administration has the authority to force employers to make their employees get vaccinated.

***

This [mandate] is certainly an overreach of what the federal government should be doing.

***

This isn't about whether someone should or shouldn't be vaccinated, this is about whether or not the government can tell you to do it.

***

[The Congressional Review Act] is used to strike down regulations that, quite frankly, shouldn't be put there.

***

Working with Senator Braun, [the Congressional Review Act] came out of the Senate bipartisan. We've got every Republican in the House on this and we've had some constructive dialogue with Congressional Democrats.

***

We don't want to leave any stone unturned.

***

We are standing up for the Constitutional rights of every American.

***

I worked in a factory right out of high school and I later managed a factory for the company. The owners of that company and the managers of that business cared about every employee.

***

[The Biden administration] is pitting the employee against the employer to try and get their way.

***

These are the same people, by the way, that figured out how to stay safe throughout the pandemic. They figured out how to go to work every day.

***

I intend to make sure that what we do -- the work we do -- leaves the power where it belongs and that is with the citizens of the United States of America.
